Life coaching, different than mentoring, counseling, and psychotherapy, is a goal-oriented partnership between a coach and client where the personal, interpersonal, and professional development of the client is maximized to its full potential and his/her overall life is improved. Coaching is a supportive, practical, concrete process in which the coach and client work together to identify and pursue the client’s goals. Because it is goal-driven, structured, and focused, coaching requires work, consistency and commitment on the part of the client, not just the coach. The ultimate goal is for the client to create effective methods to accomplish specific achievements in the specific area(s) of their life they identify.
As a coach, my job is to inspire thought-provoking growth and self-awareness in you, the client, through objective assessment, active listening, challenging ideas, and encouragement, to empower you to create your vision for your life. As the client, the work you put forth will dictate the pace at which we work. Creating goals, incorporating the assessments and observations, and utilizing the tools provided to create and walk out your life vision will be of great benefit to you. Clients reach their full potential and reap all the benefits of coaching when they’re focused on themselves, observant, willing to challenge current thought processes and behaviors, open to change, forgiving of one’s self, and committed to their goals.
